Using Aerial Mapping for Business and the Military

It was not long ago that aerial photography was nothing more than an individual holding his hand outside a plane and hoping that he manages to take a picture that doesn’t consist of blurry lines.

These days, that same photography can help catch criminals, fight wars, encourage industrial development and even help us understand weather patterns.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but with aerial imagery, that could easily be two thousand or more. Aerial imagery allows for tactical decision making, spark change and imagination and even affect the way the world works. At the very least, using those photographs for aerial mapping allows us to know what the world looks like at a given point in time. In a way, those images are our history, and while we may be using them for business/military purposes, there are simply so many uses for even a single snapshot that we are likely never going to learn all of the things we can from the photograph.

As technology advances, these images are going to become even more detailed, and the benefits we can gain from them will increase exponentially with the invention of each new technological advancement that people create.
