One of the most frustrating things for me is that there are no retailers in my city that are willing to carry Mercury outboard parts in their stores.  Sure, they are willing to special order anything I need, but they also had a hefty surcharge on top of the actual price.

And I am sick of it.

Sure, you might argue that it is good to support businesses in your community, but quite frankly, if they are going to rip me off instead of helping me out, then I don’t really want to give them my business.  As a business owner, I know that we are all out to make a profit, but I don’t want to go out of my way and take advantage of my customers so that I can profit.  It just isn’t right.

Thankfully, there are some online retailers that feel the same way and offer competitive pricing on the marine parts that I have been looking for.  They also are helpful and seem happy to answer all of my questions which in my mind is really important.

So, I am going to spend my money online with companies that are actually happy to have my business and quit supporting those local businesses that are ripping me off.  I just have to do what is right for me.
