It Takes All Kinds To Make The World Go Around

I’m one of those people who has had just about every job that you can imagine. It’s great because I feel like these different jobs have exposed me to meeting people that I wouldn’t otherwise have met. For example, I once held a brief job as a salesperson for a truck toolboxes store.

When I first started there, I had no idea what kind of people would come in to buy things like trailer tongue utility boxes and tool totes. What I learned while I was there was that these things are useful to many different groups of people. Some of these groups were people I wouldn’t have met in any other setting.

For example, I met a lot of people at this store who were interested in hunting. Hunting’s not my thing so I don’t tend to hang out with a lot of people who are into it. I realize, however, that you can only learn new things in life if you open yourself up to the people interested in them.

Through conversations at this store, I learned about why people are interested in hunting. Hunting still isn’t my thing and I still don’t have a lot of friends who do it but I now realize that I can know different kinds of people into different hobbies than me and that we just might get along with each other.
