Airsoft Gun Safety

Many people worry that airsoft guns are not safe because they are so realistic looking.  People need to understand that airsoft guns are not toys and are not meant for children.  Giving an airsoft gun to a change is irresponsible and can put the child at risk.  In the United States, airsoft guns are often mistaken for real firearms.  It is dangerous to brandish a real gun in public and the same can be said for airsoft guns.

Airsoft guns look very realistic and they shoot plastic pellets or BBs.  Many airsoft guns are automatic.  Many KWA airsoft guns are fully automatic.  The speed that a pellet shoots from an airsoft gun is much slower than a pellet shooting out of a BB gun.  This allows for people, under proper conditions, to shoot at each other without causing harm.

When engaging in airsoft matches, always wear protective eyewear.  There is no exception to this rule.  Proper eyewear does not include sunglasses, shop safety glasses, ski goggles.  Be certain that the eye protection that you choose is meant to be used with airsoft guns.

The best rule to follow is to always treat airsoft guns as though they are real firearms.  Shooting an airsoft gun at close range can cause serious injury, including injured eyes and damaged teeth.
