Hardscaping

One cool thing about a new house, and also a pain, is landscaping the yard.  My new backyard is in bad need of an overhaul.  I’m not too into pools, so that can be left out.  I am looking into surround the yard with fruit trees for privacy and shade.  Well, not to mention some serious pies in the fall.  But the biggest thing is the hardscaping I want to do here.  Besides the rocks and low walls, I am really excited about the out door kitchen I am going to install.

I have selected some outdoor kitchen designs and plans that will fit what I want to do, without breaking the bank.  I am going with an l-shaped island grill with outdoor sinks to really make it functional.  I want it to look great, too.  So I am adding a wooden trellis cover that I have found vines to grow over.

To tie it all in with the house, I am going to go with a flagstone patio that will match the island, and the rock trim of the house.  Next week I have a plumber coming over to set the pipes for gas and water, and an electrician to give me juice.  I am cutting this a bit close as the stone arrives this week, and will have to sit on my driveway for a few days.  Anyone interested in helping me move stone for a day?
