Ixquick Ratings Based Meta Search Engine

As personal privacy concerns create growing alarm about the freedom of the Internet, the Ixquick metasearch engine (www.ixquick.com) has taken a pioneering step: Ixquick will permanently delete all personal search details gleaned from its users from the log files.
Ixquick.com search engine submits your search request to 14 search engines and the results are ranked according to a “star” ranking system.
While the ranking may not appear any different from what other search engines have to offer, ixquick includes several other search options that a user might like such as Boolean logic, phrases, wild cards, and field searches. They also have a phone directory search, image search, and the shopping comparison search
Ixquick uses a star ranking system to rate the results. Each result gets a “star” if it is one among the top ten results in one of the major engines. Each search engine has its own database and ranking methodology and the star rating does get the relevant links to come through from the wide array of results. Duplicates are removed from the search results.
