I would have to say for the most part that I don’t really care so much what people think of me. Sure, I don’t go out of my way to be a jerk or anything, but my life isn’t based on the need for acceptance from everyone. That means that sometimes I wear different clothing, or get a strange hair color, but I like to think that this helps me to define myself as my own person.

But from time to time, I feel self conscious about myself or my appearance. A good example would be when I have a cold sore – it seems like everyone is just staring at me. I don’t like it, and quite often I will come across as a little more meek and I don’t go out as much when I have one.

That is why I am worried about going to work today – I don’t know what the reaction will be to my latest problem. You see, I have been having troubles hearing out of my left ear, and I have bought a hearing aid to solve the problem, but I don’t know how comfortable I am wearing it. I guess I’ll have to see the reaction from others today – I hope that it goes well as I need to be able to hear to do my job effectively.

One of the benefits of doing online work is that you can work from anywhere that you can get an Internet connection. You should not mistake this for believing that the Internet work that you do in one place is the same as you might do in another. Individual jobs can vary significantly from one place to the next even when the work is done on the world wide web.

A friend of mine learned this the hard way. She had been living in New York and doing Internet marketing for a company there. Then her husband got a job in Tampa so they relocated. She figured that it would be easy to do internet marketing in Tampa.

Indeed, she did find that it was pretty easy to get a job there based on her experience. However, the work turned out to be a lot different. For example, putting together an email marketing strategy in Tampa was a lot different from when she’d done it in New York. In New York, she emailed all of the different businesses relevant to the company that the promotion was for. In Tampa, her employer only wanted her to email businesses that they had some familiarity with from previous work. Although it was a minor difference, it meant that she had to learn new strategies for the job even though she was still working entirely online.

After my grandmother gave me five boxes of gold jewelry for helping her move, I found myself in a bit of a pickle.  What was I going to do with five boxes of jewelry?

I guess you could argue that guys can wear jewelry too, but I don’t quite think that wearing women’s jewelry would look very good on me.  Besides, I thought that if I were to sell the gold jewelry that I could maybe take a vacation or at least buy something special for myself.

I made sure to get my grandmother’s permission before looking into the matter further because the last thing that I wanted was to make her angry.  She was happy to give me her blessing, so all I have to do now is find out where I can sell it.

I had seen some advertisements in the classifieds that sold guides on how to sell jewelry online, so I thought that should maybe be the route that I go.  But before I do that, I am just going to go down to the local goldsmith to see what they give me, so that I have an idea as to what is a good price.

I just wish that my grandmother would have given me a box of money (which would have been much easier), but I will take this as a learning experience.  Besides, once I have that money in hand, I really won’t care how much time it took to find a place to sell the gold anyway.

As a Halloween buff, yes, I believe there’s no time like the present to start planning your next Halloween costume.

Why?  Well, for one thing, you’ll have time to put together a much better costume if you start now.  If you are putting together your own costume, you can get a jump start on combing the thrift stores, before anyone else starts.  Some items are difficult to find, so you might really benefit from the additional time in that case.

Another reason to start looking early: Garage sale season is in the warmer summer and early fall months, and garage sales can be a great source for clothing for a Halloween costume.  Driving around to garage sales can be time- and gas-consuming, though, so I advise checking Craigslist and newspaper ads to see if the sale has clothing before you head on over.

Even if you prefer to buy a ready-made outfit, the extra time can help.  If you need a plus size women’s costume, for instance, you may find that the selection is smaller and good costumes are more difficult to find.  Starting to shop early will give you more time to find what you want.

The beautiful thing about a costume is that if you find one early, you can store it until Halloween rolls around.  So don’t be afraid to look now.  Better too early than too late, right?
