The Day I Didn’t Have an Energy Bar

 

I didn’t realize that I had come to rely on having an energy bar around for getting that extra boost I usually need towards the end of the work day. Then one day the store I shop at was out of my favorite energy bar (the 3 bar) so I decided to just skip it. That’s when I learned how much the energy bar really does help me out.

I think the reason that I got so used to having the nutrition bar as a part of my diet is because I’ve always been prone to eating little meals. Instead of three big meals, I usually eat six small meals throughout the day. That means my metabolism is high and my body gets wacky if I skip eating. That late afternoon nutrition bar serves as one of my mini-meals when I can’t actually stop to grab a bite.

Going without the energy bar that day caused me quite a headache. It caused me a literal headache from hunger and it caused me hassles because I wasn’t up to par enough to do my job well. I’ve come to learn that I need to make sure to have something at my desk to snack on in times like these in order to be able to stay on top of my game.
