Inauguration Day!

EZ rent a carI should have just gotten an easy rent a car and driven straight into DC today.  I can’t believe how auspicious this moment is; I was moved to tears as I listened to President Barack Obama’s inaugural address.  He spoke about responsibility and change, and what it means to truly be a world leader, as well as a community leader.  He reminded us that we must take responsibility for ourselves if we are ever to heal this crisis.  He told us to have hope in the darkest hour.

I wish I could have been there.  I know it was freezing cold, but even to have been in the city, to have felt the electricity and crackle of a new dawn.  I went to Miami rental car yesterday just to check (I don’t own a car), and they were out, but if I had just gone up to the Orlando rental car place I would have been solid.

I should have; I think I’ll always kick myself for that.  But just to have watched it on TV, to have appreciated this new bright light in American history is both humbling and inspiring, not unlike the new president himself.  I also don’t mind that this means ol’ Dubya is out of here!  Thanks for playing, Mr. Former President, but see you later!
