Getting a Job in a Tough Economy

Unemployment is at its highest and there doesn’t seem to be enough jobs. However, the bills still need to get paid so we all know we have to get back out there. Although, the same jobs I applied for six months ago which had 14 other applicants now have 40. Perhaps this is due to people finding second jobs or it may be from primary jobs being laid off or eliminated. Either way, the best thing anyone can do at this time is sharpen their skills. I know if my resume stands out above the rest then I’m more likely to get a call back.
Now is a great time to work on finishing an associate degree or accredited online bachelor degree. This is made easier by the ability to complete the program online. Also, many grant programs will fund online higher education, especially right now. This also gives an opportunity to work on interviewing skills as there are usually discussion requirements which are part of the course process.
There isn’t a lot a struggling consumer can do about the economy itself, however, they can improve themselves and make what they have to offer more marketable. An applicant with a business administration associate degree online will be taken far more serious than one without.
