This was a question a colleague recently asked me. Did I think his career would be accentuated if he went ahead and got hair replacement surgery? Considering I’d never really thought about the concept, I told him I’d have to get back to him on that one.

Without trying to be vain, I really think there are some jobs where your appearance can make or break you in terms of success. Since we both work for the same Hollywood talent agency, you may agree that our work definitely falls into the category where looks are important.

And not so much as it relates to our clients success (though I secretly wonder if there is a correlation there), but more to do with whether or not we actually land the actor or artist in the first place.

Knocking on wood, I’m not likely to ever need this type of treatment. My friend however is very close to making that decision. Fortunately for the both of us, hair replacement cost will not be a factor considering that we are fortunate enough to earn a little bit above minimum wage.

Hopefully, all will go well for my friend and we can get on with the really important aspects of life, like where to have lunch!
