Businesses are always on the lookout for innovative ways to bring in customers and keep the ones they have. One of the most recent techniques is the use of reward programs that offer points or discount prices for services or products bought over a certain period of time. Many provide this by using a plastic card that can keep track of purchases with magnetic strips, hole punches or bar codes. The cards can come in a number of dimensions, from credit card sizes that conveniently slip into a purse or wallet to handy sizes that fit on a person’s key chain. An individual can then always keep his or her rewards card right where they want it.

As the average person loves a bargain, using these types of plastic business cards has proven extremely beneficial to many businesses. Though many have tried using the same system with traditional paper cards, many find that the cards become lost, torn or ruined when they come in contact with water. In addition, there is sometimes a potential for duplicate paper cards to be obtained, resulting in loss for a company over a period of time. Plastic cards are more durable, last longer and those with magnetic strips or barcodes are always much easier to track.
